In the summer of 1988, I worked for the Green Mountain Club of Vermont to help maintain a section of the Long Trail that runs along
the top of the Green Mountains from the Massachusetts border to the Canadian Border. I lived on top of the Mad River Glen ski
area and kept logs, undergrowth and debris clear from a ten mile section of the trail to make it easier for hikers to travel
the terrain. In the early mornings and in the evenings, I had ample time to enjoy the scenery and compose songs that I hope capture
some of the beauty, humor, reflection, and peacefulness of my mountaintop experience. I owe gratitude to
Nancy Taube
for her assistance in composing and recording some of these songs.
